Elated over Geeta's return from Pakistan after a gap of 15 years, the Mahatos from Bihar on Monday turned up at the Indira Gandhi International Airport to accord a warm welcome to their "family member", only to be left dejected hours later as she refused to recognise them.
The police said that they needed the custody of the dreaded terrorist to know about the role of "insiders and outsiders" who assisted him and five others in fleeing from Nabha jail in Patiala.
IndiGo's president and director Aditya Ghosh apologised for the incident and said stern action was taken against an airline staff for manhandling the passenger.
